I said, “But you can never underestimate the power of the CIA and RAW.”
Badr Ali frowned and said, “Why not?”
I: – The CIA is an organization that can be active against any person in the world, even the head of state or government. And the CIA is also directly and indirectly supported by Mossad and other organizations. In a word, no one can stand against the CIA. Great evidence of the assassination of King Faisal. Even the CIA has a role to play in the collapse of the Soviet Union. The KGB of the Soviet Union could not survive against the CIA. And RAW is the most powerful intelligence agency in South Asia. So Bangladesh can do a lot by taking advantage of this opportunity. Maybe there are many semi-crazy people in Bangladesh who will not hesitate to cooperate with RAW. You were a major in the army. Don’t you know it?
On hearing this, Badr Ali sighed and said, “Yes, I know. The GOC who canceled me from the army was a pro-Indian GOC. I: – So you are pro-Pakistan and anti-independence?
Badr Ali: – Why do you think so?
I: – We became independent from Pakistan through India. And there is no way to deny RAW’s cooperation. So naturally anyone who thinks India is anti-independence may think so.
Badr Ali shook the collar of his shirt and said, “My father is a freedom fighter. I am the son of a freedom fighter.”
I was surprised and asked, “Why did you become a militant leader as a son of a freedom fighter?”
Badr Ali: – For power.
I: – Just for power?
Badr Ali said very fluently, “Yes, for power. My father fought against Pakistan for power, and I became a jihadi for power.”
I: – Did your father fight for power in 1971?
Badr Ali:- Of course. He fought for rights, freedom and power. If there is no power, then there will be no freedom and no rights. This is why all the freedom fighters who did not get power after the war are trying to seize power by forming different political parties.
I: – Does your freedom fighter father know that you have become a militant leader ?
Badr Ali:- No. I told my father that I wanted to continue preaching Tabligh for the rest of my life.
I: – Even though you are a son of a freedom fighter, did you not get involved in militancy?
Badr Ali: – Freedom fighters like Colonel Farooq, Rashid and Dalim did not think of killing Bangabandhu. That is why I did not even think of getting involved in militancy as a son of a freedom fighter.
I: – Did not the power of the rank of Major in the army please you?
Badr Ali:- No.
I: – Why?
Badr Ali:- It was just a job. I became an army officer with my father’s freedom fighter certificate for better living, government salary – allowances and opportunities. But after taking the job, I realized that the real power is the state power. This is the reason why in the greed of state power many big army officers retire and even quit their jobs and get involved in politics.
I: – You have said that RAW incites the regional rebels in India. What is the benefit of RAW?
Badr Ali:- This is to get more benefits from the central government of India. Whenever the rebels are activated, the central government takes advantage of the situation to suppress the rebels. In this way, the officers of RAW also got more power and privileges. RAW’s bosses also occasionally arrange meetings with rebels or their representatives to diversify. RAW also has direct and indirect contacts with other rebels, including the Cachin Army in Myanmar.
Hearing this, I laughed and asked, “Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated by the LTTE. Was there any involvement or benefit in RAW?”
Badr Ali also smiled and said, “RAW was active for profit. But in the end, Rajiv Gandhi’s assassination took place because the matter was not under RAW’s control.”
I asked curiously, “How is it?”
Badr Ali: – Promises of RAW help and cooperation to LTTE have not been kept. And RAW was secretly cooperating with the Sri Lankan army. The matter angered the LTTE. On the other hand, former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi recently went on a political visit to Tamil Nadu. Then Rajiv Gandhi was killed by LTTE suicide bombers. It is said that the LTTE knew about the attack beforehand. But did not resist for unknown reasons. Although the LTTE was originally established through RAW, it was not fully controlled later. Now, if we become RAW’s agents through the Indian rebels, we will be at a disadvantage.
I: – What will be the damage?
Badr Ali: – Then if we do not follow the word of RAW, then RAW will inform Bangladesh government about us. As a result, the Bangladesh government will be quick to arrest us. This applies not only to RAW, but also to all foreign agencies, including the CIA. Therefore, there is no need to be the tail of an agency of another country by applying one’s own money, talent and labor without getting the direct support of another country.
Although I never support Badr Ali’s ideology. But his this talk surprised me.

আমি বললাম, ” কিন্তু আপনি কখনই পারবেন না সিআইএ ও র এর ক্ষমতাকে হেয় করতে। “
বদর আলি ভ্রুকুটি করে বলল, ” কেন পারব না ? “
আমি :- সিআইএ এমন একটা সংস্থা, যে চাইলে পৃথিবীর যে কোন ব্যক্তি এমনকি রাষ্ট্র অথবা সরকার প্রধানের বিরুদ্ধে সক্রিয় হতে পারে। এবং সিআইএকে মোসাদ ও অন্যান্য সংগঠনও প্রত্যক্ষ ও পরোক্ষভাবে সহযোগিতা করে। এক কথায় বললে, সিআইএর বিরুদ্ধে লাগলে কেউই টিকতে পারেনা। বাদশাহ ফয়সালের হত্যাকাণ্ড এর বড় প্রমাণ। এমনকি সোভিয়েত ইউনিয়নের পতনের পিছনেও সিআইএর ভূমিকা আছে। সোভিয়েত ইউনিয়নের কেজিবিও পারেনি সিআইএর বিরুদ্ধে টিকে থাকতে। আর দক্ষিণ এশিয়াতে র সবচেয়ে বেশি শক্তিশালী গোয়েন্দা সংস্থা। সার্কভুক্ত সকল দেশেই র এর কম বেশি এজেন্ট আছে। ভারতের প্রত্যেকটা মন্দির, তীর্থস্থান, মাজারসহ প্রত্যেকটা দর্শনীয় স্থানে আছে র এর এজেন্ট। ওদের কাজই হচ্ছে দর্শনার্থীদেরকে ভারতের প্রতি আরো আকৃষ্ট করা। বিশেষ করে বাংলাদেশ থেকে যে সকল পাগল – ছাগল ভারতের মাজার আর মন্দিরে গিয়ে অযথাই লাফালাফি আর নাচানাচি করে, তাদেরকে সহজেই র এর এজেন্টরা বশ করে নিতে পারে। পরবর্তীতে এরাই নিজেদের অজান্তেই র এর শ্যাডো এজেন্ট হিসেবে কাজ করে। তাছাড়া ভৌগলিক, অর্থনৈতিক, বাণিজ্যিক ও রাজনৈতিকভাবে ভারতের উপর বাংলাদেশ অনেকাংশে নির্ভরশীল। তাই এই সুযোগকে কাজে লাগিয়ে বাংলাদেশে র অনেক কিছুই করতে পারে। এমনকি হয়ত বাংলাদেশে অনেক আধা পাগল আছে, যারা র কে সকল ধরণের সহযোগিতা করতে দ্বিধা করবে না। আপনি তো সেনা বাহিনীর মেজর ছিলেন। আপনি কি এটা জানেন না ?
আমার এই কথা শোনে বদর আলি একটা দীর্ঘশ্বাস ফেলে বলল, ” হ্যাঁ জানি। আমাকে যে জিওসি সেনাবাহিনীর চাকরি থেকে বের করে দিয়েছিলেন, সেই জিওসি ছিলেন ভারতপন্থী। একদিন আমি র এর বিরুদ্ধে কথা বলাতে তিনি আমাকে কড়া ধমক দিয়ে বলেছিলেন, ‘হারামজাদা, বাংলাদেশের চতুর্দিকে ভারতের সীমান্ত , আর তুই সাধারণ একটা মেজর হয়ে ভারতের বিরুদ্ধে কথা বলিস।’ তাই সেই থেকে আমি ভারত ও র বিরোধী। “
আমি :- তাহলে কি আপনি পাকিস্তানপন্থী ও স্বাধীনতা বিরোধী ?
বদর আলি :- তোমার এমনটা মনে হলো কেন ?
আমি :- ভারতের মাধ্যমেই আমরা পাকিস্তান থেকে স্বাধীন হয়েছি। আর তাতে র এর সহযোগিতা অস্বীকার করার উপায় নাই। তাই স্বাভাবিকভাবেই ভারত বিরোধীদেরকে স্বাধীনতা বিরোধী যে কারোর মনে হতেই পারে।
বদর আলি নিজের শার্টের কলার ঝাঁকাতে ঝাঁকাতে বলল, ” আমার বাবা মুক্তিযোদ্ধা। আমি মুক্তিযোদ্ধার সন্তান। “
আমি অবাক হয়ে জিজ্ঞেস করলাম, ” আপনি মুক্তিযোদ্ধার সন্তান হয়ে জঙ্গি নেতা হলেন কেন ? “
বদর আলি :- ক্ষমতার জন্য।
আমি :- শুধু ক্ষমতার জন্য ?
বদর আলি অত্যন্ত সাবলীলভাবে বলল, ” হ্যাঁ, ক্ষমতার জন্য। আমার বাবা ক্ষমতার জন্য পাকিস্তানের বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ করেছে, আর আমি ক্ষমতার জন্য জিহাদি হয়েছি। ”
আমি :- আপনার বাবা ক্ষমতার জন্য ১৯৭১ সালে যুদ্ধ করেছেন ?
বদর আলি :- অবশ্যই। অধিকার, স্বাধীনতা আর ক্ষমতার জন্যই তো যুদ্ধ করেছেন। যদি ক্ষমতা না থাকে, তবে স্বাধীনতা আর অধিকারও তো থাকবে না। এই কারণেই যুদ্ধের পর যে সকল মুক্তিযোদ্ধারা ক্ষমতা পান নি, তিনিরা রাজনৈতিক বিভিন্ন দল গঠন করে ক্ষমতা দখলের চেষ্টা করছেন।
আমি :- আপনি যে জিহাদি হয়েছেন, সেটা কি আপনার মুক্তিযোদ্ধা বাবা জানেন ?
বদর আলি :- না। বাবাকে আমি বলেছি, তাবলিগকে অবলম্বন করেই আমি সারা জীবন চলতে চাই।
আমি :- মুক্তিযোদ্ধার সন্তান হয়েও জঙ্গিবাদে জড়াতে আপনার মনে কি একটুও বাঁধল না ?
বদর আলি :- বঙ্গবন্ধুকে হত্যা করতে কর্নেল ফারুক, রশিদ আর ডালিমের মতো মুক্তিযোদ্ধাদের মনে বাঁধে নি। তাই জঙ্গিবাদে মুক্তিযোদ্ধার সন্তান হয়ে জড়াতে আমারও মনে বাঁধে নি।
আমি :- সেনাবাহিনীর মেজর পদবীর ক্ষমতা কি আপনাকে তুষ্ট করতে পারেনি ?
বদর আলি :- না।
আমি :- কেন ?
বদর আলি :- সেটা ছিল নিছক একটা চাকরি। উন্নত জীবন, সরকারি বেতন – ভাতা আর সুযোগ – সুবিধার জন্যই আমার বাবার মুক্তিযোদ্ধা সনদ দিয়ে সেনা বাহিনীর অফিসার হয়েছিলাম। কিন্তু চাকরি নেয়ার পর বুঝলাম, আসল ক্ষমতা হচ্ছে রাষ্ট্রীয় ক্ষমতা। এই কারণেই রাষ্ট্রীয় ক্ষমতার লোভে অনেক বড় বড় সেনা অফিসার অবসর নিয়ে এমনকি চাকরি ছেড়ে রাজনীতিতে জড়ায়।
আমি :- আপনি বলেছেন, ভারতের আঞ্চলিক বিদ্রোহীদেরকে র উষ্কে দেয়। তাতে র এর কী লাভ ?
বদর আলি :- ভারতের কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের কাছ থেকে বেশি বেশি সুবিধা আদায় করতে র এমনটা করে। যখন কোথাও বিদ্রোহীদেরকে র সক্রিয় করে, তখন র কেই কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার সেই বিদ্রোহীদের দমন করতে বিভিন্ন সুবিধা দিয়ে মাঠে নামায়। এতে র এর কর্তাবাবুরাও আরো ক্ষমতা ও সুবিধাপ্রাপ্ত হন। আবার র এর কর্তাবাবুরা মাঝে মাঝে বৈচিত্র্য আনার জন্য বিদ্রোহী অথবা তাদের প্রতিনিধিদের সঙ্গে বৈঠকেরও আয়োজন করেন। এমনকি মিয়ানমারের কচিন আর্মিসহ অন্যান্য বিদ্রোহীদের সঙ্গে আছে র এর প্রত্যক্ষ ও পরোক্ষ যোগাযোগ।
এই কথা শোনে আমি হাসতে হাসতে জিজ্ঞেস করলাম, ” রাজিব গান্ধিকে তো এলটিটিই হত্যা করেছে। তাতে র এর সংশ্লিষ্টতা অথবা কোন লাভ ছিল কি ? “
বদর আলিও মুচকি হেসে বলল, ” লাভের জন্যই র সক্রিয় ছিল। কিন্তু শেষে বিষয়টা র এর নিয়ন্ত্রণে না থাকার কারণেই রাজিব গান্ধির হত্যাকাণ্ড ঘটে গিয়েছিল। “
আমি আগ্রহী হয়ে জিজ্ঞেস করলাম, ” ব্যাপারটা কেমন ? “
বদর আলি :- এলটিটিইকে সাহায্য – সহযোগিতার যে সকল প্রতিশ্রুতি র দিয়েছিল, সেগুলো পালন করা হয়নি। এবং গোপনে র কে এলটিটিই অল্প সহযোগিতা করলেও প্রকাশ্যে শ্রীলঙ্কার সেনাবাহিনীকে সহযোগিতা করেছিল। ব্যাপারটা এলটিটিইকে মারাত্মকভাবে ক্ষেপিয়ে তোলেছিল। অন্যদিকে সদ্য সাবেক প্রধানমন্ত্রী রাজিব গান্ধি রাজনৈতিক সফরে তামিলনাড়ুতে গিয়েছিলেন। তখন রাজিব গান্ধিকে এলটিটিইর আত্মঘাতী সদস্যরা হত্যা করে। কথিত আছে, এলটিটিইর ওই হামলা সম্পর্কে র আগেই জেনেছিল। কিন্তু অজানা কারণে প্রতিরোধ করেনি। মূলত র এর মাধ্যমে এলটিটিই প্রতিষ্ঠিত হলেও পরবর্তীতে পুরোপুরি নিয়ন্ত্রণে থাকেনি। এখন যদি আমরা ভারতের বিদ্রোহীদের মাধ্যমে র এর এজেন্ট হই তবে আমাদেরই ক্ষতিই হবে।
আমি :- কেমন ক্ষতি হবে ?
বদর আলি :- তখন যদি আমরা র এর কথা মতো না চলি, তাহলে আমাদের ব্যাপারে বাংলাদেশ সরকারকে জানিয়ে দেবে। ফলে বাংলাদেশ সরকার আমাদেরকে গ্রেফতার করার জন্য তৎপর হবে। শুধু র না, বরং সিআইএ সহ সকল বিদেশি সংস্থার ক্ষেত্রেও এটা প্রযোজ্য। তাই অন্য দেশের সরাসরি সমর্থন না পেয়ে নিজের টাকা, মেধা ও শ্রম প্রয়োগ করে শুধু শুধু অন্য দেশের এজেন্সির লেজুড় হওয়ার কোন দরকার নাই।
যদিও বদর আলির মতাদর্শকে আমি কখনই সমর্থন করিনা।কিন্তু ওর এই কথাটা আমার কাছে চমকপ্রদ লাগল।
ফৌজদারি উকিল ডালিম খান বলল, ” বদর ভাই, সৌদি রাজ পরিবারের সঙ্গে যদি আমরা যোগাযোগ করি, তবে আমাদের শক্তি আরো বাড়বে। তাতে আমরা সহজেই বাংলাদেশের ক্ষমতা দখল করতে পারব। “
বদর আলি ডানে – বামে মাথা নেড়ে অসম্মতির ভঙ্গিতে বলল, ” বর্তমানে এটা অত্যন্ত কঠিন। অনেক আগে সৌদি রাজ পরিবারের দান – খয়রাত অনেক দেশই পেত। আর সেই দেশে কাজ করতে যাওয়া প্রবাসীদের অনেকেই রাজ পরিবারের দান – খয়রাত পেয়ে কোটিপতি হয়ে যেত। কিন্তু বর্তমান সময়ে সৌদি রাজ পরিবারের দান – খয়রাত তাদের দেশেই দেয়া হয়ে যায়। আর বাকি দান – খয়রাত পাকিস্তানে দিয়ে দেয়া হয়। মূলত পাকিস্তান হচ্ছে সৌদি রাজ পরিবারের সেকেন্ড হোম। তাই আমরা যদি সৌদি রাজ পরিবারের সঙ্গে যোগাযোগ করি, তাহলে শুধু শুধু ঝামেলাই হবে। এরচেয়ে বরং আমরা দেশ – বিদেশের সমর্থকদের সাহায্যে বেশ ভালোই এগিয়ে যাচ্ছি। ” (চলবে) ©️All Right Reserved by Junayed Ashrafur Rahman
